"Cen Cal Angels Qualify for NSA World Series"
Saturday May 11, 2013
May 11, Cen Cal Angels 12u Competitive Fastpitch team has qualified for a berth to the NSA World Series in Ventura California because of our recent success in winning a Championship in Manteca and placing 2nd in Madera.
We are really proud of our girls as a first year 12U team "balling out" as they have reached maturity on the field and at the plate in a short amount of time.
As our organization grows, our goal now will be to develope the girls at each position, give them more "ammunition" at the plate, and set a higher standard at which to play.
"Complacent" was term used at practice. A term we are devoted not to be. As coaches and players we will "Strive" for more and continue to push our teams to the next level.
Thank you girls for devoting your lives to the GAME!

Manteca, CA. Big League Dreams
May 5, Cen Cal Angels 12u Competitive Fastpitch team put on a batting barrage that could be called "Operation Shock and Aw!"
The Angels dominated every game Saturday and Sunday both in Runs scored and Runs given up.
With pitching from our "Aces".
Our pitching, backed by the defense was shut down. But our batting was tremendous batting for a team high BA .547, OB% .595, and team strike outs of a low 9 K's over two days in 6 games.
Saturday morning we beat Westside Bullets 11-8 which was the closest game of the weekend.
Next, we faced San Luis Obisbo County NITRO and won 15-1 as we pitched a gem.
Our last game of the day we blanked Lincoln Loaded 7-0 as we pitched our first shut out of the weekend.
As a team we gave up only 9 runs on the day to put us in the second seed of Sunday bracket play.
Sunday bracket play started with SLO County NITRO where our bats again took over winning the game 19-1.
In the Semi final bracket game we hammered out more bombs as Valley Misfits could'nt put a run on the board. We won 8-0 and again we pitched another shut out.
We came into the Championship game and the girls were as confident as ever, facing California Breeze from Sacramento. This was a well coached team that could also bang with us.
As our pitching got warm and bats got hot there was no looking back. Cen Cal Angels took over the game in Championship fashion knocking down the Breeze 12-6.
Congratulations CHAMPS!
Next, Modesto CA., Rainbow Fields.
"Cen Cal Angels place 2nd in Madera Tourney"

Madera, CA. South Madera High School
April 7, Cen Cal Angels 12u Competitive Fastpitch team got off to slow start on Saturday losing to Madera Destroyers 5-2.
The Angels gain momentum and dominated the last two of Saturday's games beating Bakersfield Heatwave 13-3 and West Side Bullets 11-1.
With pitching from Abby Flores, Marissa Bertuccio, Alexis Aguallo.
Our pitching, backed by the defense was shut down. Our batting was excellent also.
We came in on Sunday as second seed in the tournament bracket. We faced Madera Destroyers for the second time on the weekend wanting to get back the win we gave them on Saturday.
Pitching and batting again did the job to take over the game as we won 6-1.
Entering the Championship game versus Clovis Rockets we were primed as we played back to back.
Pitching started out great as we held them with 1 run going into the 3rd and 4th innings and managed to tie the game up 1-1.
In the 5th inning a few errors were committed on defense, coupled with some blown calls from the umps on the day as the Rockets pulled out the win 11-1.
A second place standing for the weekend isn't anything to hang your head about.
For a first year 12U team playing with five 10 year olds, we are coming along nicely as we are becoming more focused on team play and gaining maturity at the plate.
Playing against older 12U Players boosts our competitive level to a standard we want to achieve and surpass, and it has only taking 3 tournaments to reach a Championship.
Congratulations Ladies to a job well done!

Northern California "Fall West PAC Championship"
Modesto, CA. Rainbow Fields
November 25, Cen Cal Angels 10u Competitive Fastpitch team quickly got ahead of all three games in Saturday's Pool Play.
With pitching from Abby Flores, Marissa Bertuccio only 4 runs were scored in 3 games.
Our defense again was shut down. Our batting was excellent all 3 games Saturday. Winning the trifecta with small ball and batting with power against Riverbank Vendetta, Madera Lady Canes, and Tracy Titans.
Coming into Sunday's bracket play we were the number one seed facing the winner of Madera Lady Venom and Tracy Titans.
Lady Venom again faced us for a chance to go to the ship. Venom brought in their veteran pitcher again as they did the previous weekend in Hanford. This time we went with a different batting strategy to pull out the win again and ensure our Championship berth.
Entering the Championship game versus San Jose Renegades, we faced a team that was exactly the same as ours. Excellent defense, Power pitching, and busy bats.
Pitching started out rough and they capitalized on it. We brought in our power pitching and shut the game down but it as too late. The damage was done as the Renegades had a better game than us for 3 innings. We could not get our bats going as we were defeated 7-0.
We beat the San Jose Renegades in the Summer State Championship which puts us at a tie on the year. We look forward to facing them again next season.
As, a team we batted an average of .472, scored 42 runs, and allowed only 11 runs in both days consisting of 5 games. We earned a second place standing in the Northern California Fall West PAC Championship.

October 14, As I handed out trophies last night I saw all the happy faces on all these girls that make up the Cen Cal Angels Team. All of our hard work of batting practice and defensive drilling, rushing back and forth to practice has proved to us coaches that we are doing our job and heading in the right direction.
They have all come a long way from the day we started a year ago. The team cohesiveness that creates a "real" team has set in and these kids are magnificent.
This weekend I really saw each girl go out and win every play on the field, every at bat, and every pitch.
Thank you girls for all your hard work and making our jobs enjoyable and easy.
